The Far East and Arctic Region holds a dominant position in the production reserves of diamonds, coal, zinc, copper, and other precious metals and offers a unique chance to Pacific Island countries like the Solomon Islands to access large world deposits and develop them, assist prospective investors in embracing and adopting the theme of developing the energy infrastructure using global distributed generation and renewable energy technologies, to present the investment potential of the macroregion and to apply the best practices of foreign countries in addressing the issues of energy supply in remote areas.
