Solomon Airlines To Reinstate Manaoba Air Services
SOLOMON Airlines has confirmed that the airline will resume flights to Manaoba from 11 July 2022.
Weekly services will operate on Mondays from Honiara to Manaoba via Auki.
Solomon Airlines paused its service to Manaoba in late April 2022 due to concerns about interrupted services associated with a local landowners’ dispute.
However, the airline said it was now satisfied following discussions and reassurances received from the Lolo Land Trust Board Executive Committee.
“It seems that we can now be sure of the protection of our aircraft, passengers and crew in Manaoba, and can therefore restart flights,” he said.
“While we appreciate that there may be local issues which are outside of our control, we have an obligation to all who rely upon our scheduled flights across the Solomon Islands,” Mr Gebers said.
“We are encouraged enough to restart services to Manaoba, however as we seek to recover our domestic network and our tourism industry, we will continue to make sensible decisions if our equipment or crew are at risk, or our services are not prioritised or required,” he added.
Flight IE330 will depart Honiara at 8.00 am arriving in Auki at 8.30 am and Flight IE331 will depart Auki at 8.50 am arriving in Manaoba at 9.05 am. The return service will operate as Flight IE331 flying directly from Manaoba to Honiara departing at 9.25 and arriving in Honiara at 10.05 am.
