Bilikiki Cruises and Emperor Divers Partner to Boost Solomon Islands Dive Tourism
TOURISM Solomons has announced a new partnership that it believes will significantly boost the Solomon Islands dive industry: Honiara-based Bilikiki Cruises has teamed up with international dive boat operator Emperor Divers.
This collaboration will see Bilikiki Cruises’ live-aboard dive programs incorporated into Singapore-based Emperor Divers’ portfolio, which already includes popular dive destinations such as Egypt, Indonesia, and the Maldives.
Tourism Solomons Acting CEO, Dagnal Dereveke, congratulated Bilikiki Cruises, noting that the Solomon Islands’ reputation as a top-tier dive destination is already well recognized by the international SCUBA community. “This partnership has the potential to elevate that reputation even further,” Dereveke said.
“Our region’s rich marine biodiversity, along with the historic World War II wrecks that lie beneath its waters, makes the Solomon Islands a prime destination for divers from around the world,” he added.
“The dive sector is vital to our tourism industry, both culturally and economically. SCUBA enthusiasts make up a significant portion of our international visitors each year. Through this partnership with Emperor Divers—renowned for its international market presence, extensive network, and marketing reach—the Solomon Islands has a unique opportunity to expand its global appeal.”
Bilikiki Cruises’ Managing Director, Sam Leeson, expressed excitement over the partnership.
“Working with a prominent organization like Emperor Divers is an incredible opportunity for us,” Leeson said. “Our day-to-day operations will remain the same, with our dedicated management and staff continuing the fantastic work they’ve always done. However, this partnership allows us to share the beauty of our liveaboard experience with a broader audience, and we hope to attract new visitors eager to explore the exceptional diving that the Solomon Islands has to offer.”
This partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to promoting the Solomon Islands as a world-class dive destination, with Tourism Solomons hopeful that the collaboration will lead to increased global visibility and a boost in international tourism.
