The Young Entrepreneurs Council Solomon Islands (YECSI) proudly acknowledges and extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) for coming on board as a Platinum Sponsor for the YECSI Awards 2025.

The sponsorship was officially formalized today through a signing ceremony officiated by Hon. Choylin Yim-Douglas, Minister for Culture and Tourism, and witnessed by senior officials from the Ministry, alongside YECSI Chairman Mr. Limahl Totogi and members of the YECSI Secretariat.

The $50,000 Platinum Sponsorship not only represents a significant financial contribution but also includes naming rights for two prestigious award categories — the MCT Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year and the Provincial Entrepreneur of the Year.

This generous support highlights MCT’s continued commitment to fostering creativity, innovation, and sustainable growth within Solomon Islands’ tourism and cultural sectors.

YECSI Chairman Mr. Limahl Totogi expressed deep gratitude to Minister Douglas and her team, emphasizing that MCT’s support continues to inspire and empower young entrepreneurs to pursue excellence.

He noted that the Ministry’s partnership has played a key role in YECSI’s journey, from the signing of a $3 million MOU earlier this year under the Young Tourism Initiative, to the ongoing collaboration with the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) through the Launch Pad Initiative, which nurtures tourism students to become the next generation of business leaders.

As of October 2025, YECSI proudly counts from 31 members in 2024 to 174 active members, with 47 members representing the tourism sector alone — a remarkable increase never seen before. These tourism entrepreneurs span the length and breadth of the Solomon Islands, from Wagina in Choiseul to Temotu and Renbel Province, showcasing the growing reach and impact of YECSI’s network across the nation.

As the countdown to the YECSI Awards Night on November 13th continues, this Platinum Sponsorship stands as a strong symbol of partnership and shared vision — celebrating the theme “Powering Progress: Young Entrepreneurs Shaping Tomorrow.”

YECSI also acknowledges the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAL) for joining as a Gold Sponsor, further demonstrating government-wide commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship and innovation in the Solomon Islands.

Tables and tickets for the YECSI Awards Night will be available to the public later this week. YECSI invites everyone to join in celebrating the achievements of young entrepreneurs and the collective progress shaping the nation’s future.
