GINGER Beach Resort (GBR) embarking visitors with better sanitation facility despite knowing the potential to reach the quality standard of sanitation facility provided to visitors by our hotels in towns.
GBR is located westward from Honiara on North West Guadalcanal and is developing at an impressive pace and with current upgrades to its relaxing atmospheric environment attracting a lot of beachgoers both local and international.
Speaking to Isles Media last month GBR Manageress Mrs. Hilda Rose spoke of how GBR has been gaining momentum amongst other competing beach rest establishments around North West Guadalcanal.
“Without prejudice, it is important to know that the role and the function of our establishment are to always provide better possession that comports the tours and from where our development has reached now I am certain that it will continue to provide affordable experiences to our customers,” said Rose.
“Our water supply in the resort is sourced from a pure natural and crystal outlet that is carried from the mountain ridges and runs through pipelines that end up in a storage tank and further disseminates onto water access facilities within the resort particularly kitchen and toilets.”
“Regarding Sanitation, we have constructed two traditional-style houses built from Sago Palm leaves for toilets. The two ablutions are each designed and fitted with modern amenities catered for both men and women.”
“Maintaining a clean and rubbish free environment is one of our key rules and therefore proper disposal bins have been placed along the beach and near the rest houses for rubbish dumping. This is part of our efforts to keep our environment clean and also educate our guests on how to properly manage waste,” she said.
“GBR is, of course, a developing resort and at the heart of the business is something called cooperate which gives the product its vibrancy and uniqueness.
“It is always encouraging to be host to most all sorts of guests who choose to hire our facilities whether it be for forums conferences, workshops or social events such as wedding receptions, company retreats or just the regular ordinary guests who want to experience the weekend out of town.”
“Today the GBR facility is progressing steadily focusing on its positive strategy and we a looking forward to more improved services which we hope to attract more visitors in the not too distant future,” said Mr. Rose.
Mrs. Rose revealed, “The resort started as a cottage for visitors who wish to enjoy the beach atmosphere for more than just a day and with the little funds and takings they had ventured further into other services whilst attracting more and more visitors.
“However, running such a business is not an easy task and thus a lot of sacrifices had to be put in to make GBR what is it today, “Mrs. Rose said.
As a very young tourism operator on the far outskirts of Honiara, financial constraints have always been a major constraint for establishments like GBR and therefore Mrs. Rose also called on the Government to recognize their interest and struggle and provide financial support to enable them to develop further.
