The Launchpad Initiative reached a major milestone yesterday with the final grant handover ceremony at the Ministry headquarters. Deputy Secretary Phillip Sukibuka and Director Gregory Auta’a presented grants to the final recipients, marking the official launch of four new businesses across the Solomon Islands.

The recipients include Dream Events (Honiara), Heritage Thread Merchandise (Guadalcanal), Streamside Beach Camp (Central Province), and Aelan Lodge (Choiseul Province). Deputy Secretary Sukibuka encouraged recipients to “think big while starting small,” while Director Auta’a emphasized the Ministry’s ongoing support.

The YECSI Chairman acknowledged the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for their confidence in YECSI to roll out the initiative. The Solomon Islands National University (SINU) was also recognized for their vital partnership. All recipients are now officially registered businesses, a key goal of the program, demonstrating a significant step forward for youth entrepreneurship.

The Launchpad Initiative, in collaboration with YECSI and SINU, continues to empower young entrepreneurs across the Solomon Islands.
