Roderick Bay Attracting Tourists

The Manager of Roderick Bay, Eco Lodge, Patrick Sara says the region is attracting more international tourists and traveller.
Roderick Bay is one of the popular tourists’ destinations in the Solomon Islands, where tourists can indulge in various tourism tours and leisure activities and it is located at West Gela, Central Province.
“Many of those visitors are cruise tourists and they use Roderick Bay as gateways,” he told Solomon Entour News.
The Eco Lodge provides best accommodation, catering, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking and cultural activities.
Patrick said the most attractive site that attracted tourists to Roderick Bay is the wreckage of the World Discoverer cruise ship, which was wrecked ashore in 2000.
“Last year, five cruise ships visited Roderick Bay for tours and this year (2018) two cruise ships; Silver Discoverer (voyage 9812) and L’astral had been confirmed to visit Roderick Bay,” the Manager of Roderick Bay, Eco Lodge said.
Meanwhile, some international tourists that recently visited and toured Roderick Bay, Eco Lodge expressed their appreciations about their visit to the tourist destination.
“I thought it was really beautiful coming through the Sunfly passage, seeing all the different islands and it is lovely to see the islands so green and fresh.
“I’m also ready to experience some snorkeling here in the waters,” said Arnica Tolcv.
The tourist described the scenery at Roderick Bay as very relaxing and very pretty.
“It is beautiful being in the water and the bungalows are very nice and we are ready to experience the great snorkeling here.
It is also lovely to have the hospitality. It is great to hear and learn about the names of the different islands with their historic stories,” Tolcy added.
Roderick Bay Hide Away is located in Ngella, Sule Island, Florida Group, Central Province.
