Strahan Optimistic SolAir will Remain in Business

AUSTRALIAN High Commissioner to Solomon Islands, Dr Lachlan Strahan is optimistic that the national air carrier, Solomon Airlines will continue to remain in business.
Dr Strahan expressed his confidence and assurance during the Tourism in Focus 2021 summit held on 26th February during which he has announced Australia’s continual support towards Solomon Airlines to continue with its service.
The Australian High Commissioner to Solomon Islands said following last year’s $5 Million assistance to Solomon Airlines, Dr Strahan revealed further assistance will be made available this year.
“This assistance focusses on essential trainings requirements for engineers, crews and safety managers,” he said.
Dr Lachlan Strahan added that Australia will pledge their support towards maintenance equipment and parts.
“Airlines across the Pacific are under terrible pressure and we are optimistic that the national air carrier must remain in business,” he expressed.
Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands, His Excellency (H.E) LI Ming has also acknowledged Solomon Islands Tourism potential.
He said it has a great potential for China-Solomon Islands tourism cooperation.
“I hope that the two sides will work together to make plans in advance while fully fighting the epidemic, and actively strengthen market promotion and infrastructure construction, so as to lay a solid foundation for deepening China-Institute tourism cooperation,” LI Ming said.
