SOLOMON Airlines has joined with 30 local tourism operators, Tourism Solomons, and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to announce the restart of the popular Iumi Tugeda holidays program following the recommencement of domestic flights within the Solomon Islands.

Iumi Tugeda, in partnership with Tourism Solomons and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is designed to encourage travel and sustain the local tourism industry until international borders reopen.

The holiday program offers up to 50% off holiday packages to popular destinations combined with discounted Solomon Airlines flights.

Prior to the recent impact of COVID-19 and suspension of all domestic passenger flights from Honiara, the program had recorded its highest ever volumes of travellers, with hundreds of Solomon Islanders taking the opportunity to see new parts of the country.

“The restart of the Iumi Tugeda Holidays includes over 30 local tourism operators ready to welcome guests across 7 provinces and 10 destinations,” said Solomon Airlines CEO Brett Gebers.

“We are very pleased to be restarting domestic flights and to be again supporting local tourism operators as more and more residents who want to travel, become COVID-19 vaccinated,” said Solomon Airlines CEO Brett Gebers.

“The program offers very attractive opportunities to explore our Provinces in the Solomon Islands, and with the new Government requirements for travel, there is a greater degree of protection to ensure travellers can experience spectacular getaways in safe surroundings,” he said.

Iumi Tugeda holiday packages must be purchased at least 7 days in advance of travel and are valid for stays up to 7 nights at selected accommodation.
