Sixteen Honiara-based visitors took time out last weekend on Sunday 2 May 2021 to visit Tulagi and Double Islands in Central Province.
As part of their visit, the group visited the historic colonial and WW2 sites in a guided tour by Tulagi Tours.
The 1 day trip by the visitors included the Tulagi WW2 walking tour which involved a visit to the Colonial era British resident commissioner compound, a WW2 Japanese cave, and a site the US used as a cemetery during the Second World War, according to the statement from Tulagi Tour.
“The group also visited the famous Cut hill and the overhead bridge.
“The last part of the visit by the Honiara-based visitors was to the Double Island for snorkeling before returning to Honiara,” the Tulagi Tours Statement said.
The statement further stated that as local tour operators they are very pleased to have such organized day trips slowly being reintroduced since COVID-19 has negatively affected the local tourism industry.
“We welcome Honiara individuals and groups who wish to come for weekend stay or day trip.
“We can organize return boat transfers or conduct tours while you are in Tulagi.
“For bookings contact Tulagi Tours: tulagitours@gmail.com, Mobile: 7440806 or Visit our FB page@tulagi tours,” The Statement said.
