A full-day trip to Savo Sunset Lodge in Central Islands Province over the weekend was described by the local organizer as a ‘best adventurous trip’ to mark the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

The trip organizer, Mr. Ishmael Sodu, who had earlier organized an ‘Easter Day Trip’ to Ngella arranged for the Savo cruise on Friday purposely for interested people to explore the island’s natural beauty, volcano hot springs, and famous ‘megapod egg’ field.

According to Mr. Sodu, a total of 24 people were interested and booked their tickets to the island as they traveled by two 60 horse-powered engine Outboard motors (OBMs) for an hour to Savo.

“The visitors enjoyed the day trip, rating it as one of the best adventures of their lives,” said Sodu.

“Due to time, we were unable to visit the megapod field and have a swim with the dolphins.  However, visiting the volcano hot springs was the best part of the trip.

“At the end of the day was also amazing when enjoying the sunset view, we will organize more trips in the coming months so watch our space online for more updates.”
