A one day Easter Monday boat trip to Sanvester at Ngella, Central Islands Province (CIP), is on schedule.

Departure time is at 7 am, returning at 5 pm the same day.

According to the trip organizer, Mr Ishmael Sodu, activities during the boat trip include site seeing and snorkelling.

“Sites to visit are at Nugu Beach Home Stay, Maravagi Resort, Roderick Bay and Kulikau,” said Sodu.

“Price is $300 per person return trip. Bring your own lunch and swimming gears.”

Despite there being only one mentioned outboard motor (OBM) to be used during the trip next week which will be for a maximum of 10 booked people, Mr Sodu said they can arrange for two boats to be used on Easter Monday if the demand for the trip increases.

The OBM to be used is a Yamaha boat powered by a 60 horsepower engine.

Meanwhile, a fishing competition has also been arranged for the upcoming Easter celebrations at both ‘Tulaghi’ and ‘Double Island’ in CIP.

CIP’s Tourism Division and the Provincial Government are working closely with Pacific Casino Hotel and Ngella’s ‘Double Island’ owner Mr Michael Leong (MT Enterprise) who is the main sponsor of the event.

It is understood that the idea is well supported by the CPG purposely to support the drive behind CIP’s local tourism during this current Coronavirus (Covid-19) situation.

Apart from the fishing competition, a beach volleyball competition and other Easter fun games such as a half-marathon, swimming and canoeing competition will also be hosted at Tulaghi.
