Northwest Guadalcanal Enters New Era with Turtle Bay Resort Groundbreaking

Northwest Guadalcanal Constituency in Guadalcanal province is entering a new stage of economic and tourism development after the official groundbreaking ceremony of the Turtle Bay International Resort held at Turtle Beach last week.
The ceremony marks the start of a major investment project expected to boost tourism in Solomon Islands especially cultural tourism in the region.
Member of Parliament (MP) for Northwest Guadalcanal Constituency Hon. Francis Sade said the project will help local people and grow the economy. He said, “The government has committed itself to support the development just the same as the provincial government who have put a lot of support to the development including the communities.”

He added that the investor shows strong confidence in Solomon Islands and the project has been discussed for many years. He said the ground breaking is an important milestone moving from planning to building. He said “The development of the hotel has been on the table for so long and I acknowledge the investor for having the confidence to invest in Solomon Islands.”
The Turtle Bay International Resort will create jobs for local communities and support economic growth. When finished it will become a new tourism attraction for the country.

Local leaders said they hope the project will improve roads services and small businesses in nearby villages bringing steady income for families in the area Community members also expressed excitement saying they look forward to training and job opportunities especially for young people who want better futures through tourism and hospitality work in Northwest Guadalcanal One elder said “This project brings hope and change for our community.” It also strengthens confidence in long term investment in the Solomon Islands tourism sector moving forward together
